In early January of 2020 we will be removing the Guestbook section from all client websites that still use this widget. Guestbooks have become an outdated feature that are primarily used to spam people's websites with ads and scams, used very rarely for their originally-intended purpose. Today, if people want to interact with you online, they'll almost always do that over social media or send email.
For 2019 (so far) there were a total of 49 guestbook comments submitted for all Kulture Shock websites, and 43 of those comments were spam. That is a clear indication that the Guestbook is a little-used feature primarily to post spam. For these reasons, we've decided it's time to remove the Guestbook feature completely.
There's nothing you need to do. The Guestbook section will simply disappear from your website (including the menu) and from the Control Center. All guestbook comments will eventually be deleted from our databases as well.
To direct people to your social media accounts, use the social media widget in the Control Center. Visitors to your website can also use the form on the Contacts page to reach you.
