What happened to the Guestbook?

In June of 2020 we removed the Guestbook section from all client websites that still used this widget.

Why did we remove it? Guestbooks have become an outdated feature on websites that are primarily used to spam people's websites with ads and scams. Today, if people want to interact with you online, they'll almost always do that over social media or by email.

In 2019 there were a total of 49 guestbook comments submitted for all Kulture Shock websites, and 43 of those comments were spam. That was a clear indication that the Guestbook was used primarily to post spam which is why we decided to remove this widget. 

To direct people to your social media accounts, use the Social Media widget in the Control Center. Visitors to your website can also use the form on the Contacts page to reach you if you have it turned on.
